While Jerry Seinfeld continues to make headlines over Duke students walking out of his commencement address over his support of Israel, some on X (formerly Twitter) are using the moment to bring up how the comedian dated a 17-year-old when he was 38.
Seinfeld dated Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss for four years after meeting the high school senior in Central Park when she was just 17.
When sharing video or news of the Duke students’ protest, some X users have added snarky comments like, “Absolutely shocking that somewhere between 15 and 40 students walked out on Seinfeld at Duke. Google ‘Jerry Seinfeld 17 38’ to find out more about this heinous act.”
One user wrote, “This year I’ll be turning the same age Jerry Seinfeld was when he dated that 17 year old and I’m trying to imagine how badly f*cked up my life would have to be for ‘I’m going to pick up my girlfriend from high school’ to seem normal to me.”
