Pro rally driver and motorsports star Ken Block tragically died in a snowmobile accident on Monday. He was 55.
Hoonigan Industries, which Block co-founded, broke the news via their social media channels:
It's with deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today. Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.
A legend in the world of motorsports, Ken was perhaps best known for his creatively dangerous YouTube series Gymkhana, where he regularly participated in extreme, perilous stunts showcasing his drifting skills. He was never one to shy away from challenging antics, especially when they seemed crazy to the average driver.
