There's nothing quite like driving around beautiful, scenic highways, car windows rolled down and your favorite music turned up as you cruise along gorgeous stretches of road, whether on a road trip with friends or for a solo trip to enjoy a sunny day.
According to a list compiled by LoveExploring, the "most scenic road" in all of North Carolina is Blue Ridge Parkway, which gives drivers a stunning snapshot of the natural beauty the Tar Heel State has to offer, specifically its namesake ridge and even more of the Appalachian Mountains.
Here's what LoveExploring had to say about this beautiful stretch of scenery:
"The Blue Ridge Parkway is one of America's most legendary and beautiful roads, spilling out from North Carolina into Virginia, and affording incredible vistas of the Appalachia Highlands. You'll not find an ugly portion of this road, which is 469 miles in all, but a favorite is the Linn Cove Viaduct at Milepost 304. This section of the parkway, at Grandfather Mountain, is pictured [on the site] in the early morning light."
