Where is the happiest country in the world?

There might be something in the water, because most of the Top 10 happiest countries are in the region known as Scandinavia.

The metrics used for determining the happiest countries are based on life expectancy, health system, amount of government corruption, community support and overall well-being amongst the general population.

A quickly rising country in the happiness index of countries is the Baltic Nation of Lithuania, landing in the Top 20 for the first time at #20. Just a few years ago, it was down at #57.

The top countries for happiness in the world are:

  1. Finland
  2. Denmark
  3. Iceland
  4. Israel (up from #9 last year)
  5. Netherlands

Canada is #13 on the list.

The USA is #15 on the list.

Do you see a trip to Helsinki, Finland in your future? :)
