Of all the roads around in the area, there is one highway in particular that I have found causes more headaches and frustrations than anywhere else. That highway is 421. It is one of the main paths connecting Winston-Salem to Greensboro, and has the worst drivers. I take this route every day, and every day I witness the following:
- At least one person riding every single person's bumper to a dangerous degree.
- A semi-truck in both the left and right lanes, each going the same speed limit, causing massive slow downs for the whole route.
- An accident.
- Trucks weaving dangerously between cars, cutting people off and causing drivers to slam on their breaks.
By the end of the day, between my morning and evening commutes, I see one of each of these. The local police keep creating campaigns asking drivers to slow down, but it has done little to nothing to stop bad driving habits from what I experience every day.
Why do you think our area is plagued so much with bad drivers? Are you guilty of these habits? What are some things we can do to lessen the amount of dangerous drivers?
