Olivia Rodrigo’s “Sour” tour was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night (May 4) and the singer made her feelings regarding the potential overturning of Roe vs. Wade known to the thousands who attend the show.
“Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians. I hope we can raise our voices to protect our right, to have a safe abortion, which is a right that so many people before us have worked so hard to get,” said Rodrigo. Politico obtained a leaked draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito earlier this week, arguing that Roe v. Wade was "egregiously erroneous from the beginning," and that "it is time to obey the Constitution and restore the matter of abortion to the people's elected representatives." If Roe v. Wade is overturned, states would decide whether or not to outlaw the surgery. Questlove, Phoebe Bridgers, Halsey, and Garbage are also coming out against the impending reversal. Do you think Roe v. Wade should be overturned?
