The Fit
New Year's Eve is tomorrow, so it's time to break out your best sparkles! Like the past couple of years, 1920s dresses, also known as flapper dresses, filled with sparkle and sequins are in. So don't feel like you can't reuse your dress from 2020. Crushed velvet is always in style too for the biggest party of the last day of the year. Or maybe you are looking to dress up a solid color dress or blouse and are not sure how. My advice? Always start from the bottom of your fit and go all the way down. Got a cute or sparkly headband or pin? You can easily find one at any drug store, an Ulta, Target or Walmart. What about a necklace and earrings? If you are adding an accessory to your hair make sure to bring it with you to make sure the necklace/earrings and hair accessories don't clash or are too much (but rarely do I ever say anything is too much). Next up are your beautiful hands. Gonna add some rings or bracelets? Double points for a cute fit if they match the necklace. Then your waist! Yes accent that wonderful waistline or yours. You can either add a lot of attention with a sparkly belt or do something classic like a satin black ribbon or a string or pearls.
Last but certainly not least! Your shoes. Are we going with booties or pumps this year? Either way, you can add a splash of color if you make your shoes match your dress or blouse to really make the outfit pop.
The Face
As we head into the New Year, leave bad skin behind. I use a wonderful brand called The Ordinary. They are a multi-faceted brand with lotions, serums and solutions for every skincare need. The best part? They are all priced at affordable prices. One bottle of serum will last me a couple of months with daily use. Personally, I use solutions and serums that promote clear skin and prevent signs of aging. The Ordinary makes it super easy to understand what each of their products does, what order to apply them on, and what times of the day. Skincare can be intimidating. But The Ordinary does just that, makes it ordinary. Check out their collection here.
