When the new school year gets underway in Oregon, boys attending K-through-12 schools will find something new in their restrooms: tampons and pad dispensers. Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, all public schools in the state will be required to stock feminine products in both girls' and boys' restrooms as part of the "Menstrual Dignity Act," which was signed into law last year. "To ensure timely compliance, PPS ordered 500 dispensers," reads a statement issued by Portland Public Schools. "Dispensers have been installed in all elementary and middle school girls' restrooms, and more will be installed in all remaining bathrooms, including boys' restrooms, next year. Instructions on how to use tampons and pads will be posted in all bathrooms." Do you understand the reasoning behind putting tampons and pads in boys' restrooms?
