March is Women's History Month! Every day we will be commemorating and sharing the stories of influential women from North Carolina.
Today we honor Patricia Timmons-Goodson. She is the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court of North Carolina. She served on the court from 2006 until 2012. She has also served on the United State Commission on Civil Rights and is a former nominee to be a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina by President Obama. She also ran for congress in 2020!
