WFMY News 2's CBS affiliate WNCN reported an armed and dangerous person on or near the UNC Chapel Hill campus on Aug. 28.
UNC put out an Alert Carolina warning students to go inside and avoid windows.
Chapel Hill Transit and WNCN reported the buses are on hold due to the incident.
UNC tweeted later asking students to shelter in place if they are on campus and asking off-campus students to avoid the area.
